Forests are vital to our very existence. They not only keep us physiologically alive by taking carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and providing us with oxygen, woodlands also have a positive effect on our psyche and a walk in the woods is better than a visit to the psychotherapist. Even in the middle of winter when the trees are just bare skeletons and the wildflowers are still asleep, there is a lot to discover.
These images were made over the past few weeks at the Burren National Park, Coole Park and Dromore Wood Nature Reserve.
